News Daily lifts curtain on changes

JONESBORO — Months of planning have come to fruition and changes to the Clayton News Daily are unveiled to the community today.

With this edition, readers will find a new design, added features and additional pages in each issue of the community newspaper.

Editor Jim Zachary said Tuesday, “We are excited to lift the curtain and we look forward to hearing from readers as we roll out this redesign.”

He explained that as he worked behind the scenes with colleagues to package and design the newspaper, “It was important to retain the rich traditions of the News Daily as the community’s newspaper.”

Readers will find popular columns, weather and a newspaper reader’s guide on page two in each edition.

The new Perspectives page that can be found on page four each Wednesday and Friday, contains local commentary and columns. Syndicated columns will feature both liberal and conservative points of view.

An all-new comics page contains popular nationally syndicated strips.

New puzzles can also be found in each edition.

“While many things have been revamped and changes are being introduced, what does not change, and will never change, is our commitment to covering and celebrating our community. We are first and foremost a community newspaper and that means we are dedicated to being the leading source of local news, features, sports and commentary for Henry County,” said Zachary.
