JONESBORO The hustle and bustle of an exotic, foreign street captured on a canvas. A moment of youthful innocence frozen in time through a photograph.
The Arts Clayton Gallery will open two new exhibits this week that take different approaches to capturing places and people for future generations to enjoy. One is a two-month exhibit of travel artwork, titled “Travel,” which will remain on display through July 26. The other is an shorter exhibit of juried photography contest winner Dale Niles’ work, titled “Then and Now.” It remains on display until June 28.
Arts Clayton officials will formally open the exhibits during a free reception Friday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., at the gallery, at 136 South Main St., in Jonesboro.
“Travel” is described in promotion literature as “Anywhere, anytime, anyhow. The world as seen through the eyes of our artists.”
“Then and Again” is designed to showcase Niles’ work to freeze life’s moments in time.
The general public is invited to attend.
