Nina Frances Whitehead Kelley, 78, of Carnesville, Ga., passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Vitas Hospice Care in Stockbridge, Ga.
Born Feb. 28, 1935, in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Roy Ledger and Estell Beatrice Carson Whitehead. She was the widow of the late William Joseph Kelley and the sister of the late Gene Whitehead and Troy Whitehead. She was a retired nurse and had worked at Clayton General Medical Center and Grady Hospital and was a realtor with Remaxx Realty Company. A longtime resident of Clayton County, she had been active in the Jonesboro VFW Post 6330 Ladies' Auxiliary, the PTA and JAAA Little League Baseball. She and her husband Bill had been residents of Franklin County since 1989. She was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church of Carnesville.
Survivors include: two sons, Eddie Kelley, Orlando, Fla., and Mark Kelley, McDonough; four daughters, Kathy Jones, Stockbridge, Lynn MacDonald, Stockbridge, Diana Lawson, LaGrange, Ky., Robbie Jo Kelley, Stockbridge; one brother, Marvin Whitehead, Carnesville; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 12:30 Saturday afternoon at the Cross Roads Baptist Church with the Revs. Michael Bell and Philip Blinson. Burial will be in the Dawn Memorial Park in Decatur, Ga.
The family is at the home and will receive friends at the Ginn Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Flowers are welcome but the family suggest that those wishing to make memorials please do so to the Cross Roads Baptist Church, 16144 Ga. 59, Carnesville, Ga. 30521.
