MORROW — Clayton State University will be hosting the Georgia Psychological Society’s eighth annual meeting March 30.

The conference schedule calls for welcome, refreshments and registration from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m.

A general session is from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. followed by the keynote address. After lunch, additional sessions are set from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.  

Registration is $20 for students, $30 for faculty and professionals, and includes a yearly membership to the Georgia Psychological Society. Register by mail at Georgia Psychological Society, c/o Department of Psychology and Counseling, Valdosta State University, Valdosta, Ga. 31698-0100. Registrations will be at the conference registration desk for pick up. Participants who plan to register after March 20 should register at the desk between 8 a.m. and 9:40 a.m.

Kohl’s announces volunteer scholarships

The Kohl’s Department Stores Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program will award more than $425,000 in scholarships and prizes this year. Ranging from $50 Kohl’s gift cards to $10,000 scholarships, more than 2,300 young volunteers who have made a positive impact on their communities will be selected. Nominations for volunteers ages 6 to 18 will be accepted through March 15 at www.kohlskids.com.

Charter schools division seeking grant reader apps

The Georgia Department of Education Charter Schools Division is accepting applications for grant readers in the state’s federal Charter Schools Program Grant for fiscal year 2014.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, working knowledge of the Georgia charter school sector, K-12 experience and previous grant management or grant-writing experience. The term is from July 1 through June 30, 2014.
