Sandra Henderson and Kim Lister, both co-chairs for the Arts Clayton raffle committee, arrange items donated for the benefit raffle for this year’s Arte Gras.
JONESBORO Would you wear a tuxedo or an evening gown to have a shot at winning a guitar signed by the members of Lady Antebellum?
How about tickets to an Alicia Keys concert?
Residents who attend Arts Clayton’s Arte Gras fundraiser Saturday will have the opportunity to bid for both during a raffle held as part of the celebration. They are among the many items attendees can win through the raffle, according to event co-chairwoman Sandra Henderson.
“While the ballroom is being set up, everyone can browse through the raffle items and play at the gaming tables while they have cocktails,” Henderson said. “They can do this all night, and at the end of the night we’ll draw the names of the winners.”
While Henderson said 32 tables have already been sold for Arte Gras, Arts Clayton Executive Director Linda Summerlin said it’s not too late to buy tickets. She said Friday will be the last day tickets will be available for purchase. Individual tickets are available for $125 each.
“We’re looking at having 250 guests but there are a few tickets left,” Summerlin said.
The raffle items may be the carrot that can get those last few tickets sold.
Henderson and co-chairwoman Kim Lister have spent the last few weeks lining up raffle items so the drawing’s proceeds can be used to supplement ticket sales. All proceeds from the event will be used to pay for Arts Clayton’s many children’s programs.
In addition to the Lady Antebellum guitar and Alicia Keys tickets, items available to be won are trips to Myrtle Beach, Panama City and the north Georgia mountains, an Auburn University football game, Braves and Hawks tickets, jewelry, a big screen television and Delta Air Lines tickets to any destination of the winner’s choosing.
Anyone who wishes to buy a ticket for Arte Gras should call 770-473-5775 by mid-afternoon Friday.
