JONESBORO — A Riverdale man was indicted Wednesday for allegedly bilking the state out of $8,250 in unemployment benefits while holding a job.
According to indictments returned in Clayton County Superior Court, Ulysses Leon Hutchinson, 48, claimed the payments from July 4, 2009, to Dec, 19, 2009. Prosecutors said he was working for CEVA Logistics, an Atlanta-based freight company, during that same time.
In other indictments, Albert Lee West, 39, of College Park faces statutory rape, child molestation, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy and incest charges. He is being held without bond in the Clayton County Jail.
Prosecutors said West committed the alleged acts between December 2010 and September 2011.
Chuckwuma Jones Duruaku, 25, was indicted on multiple counts of aggravated battery and battery involving three alleged victims. Prosecutors said Duruaku assaulted the three in November. He is alleged to have knocked out three teeth of one person, burst the left eardrum of a second person and beat a third person in the head and face.
Angela Faye Harris Watkins, 46, was indicted for arson in the first degree and two counts of criminal damage to property in the second degree in the June 12 fire at her husband's Morrow home.
Arson investigators said Watkins set her husband's clothes on fire in an attempt to burn down his Wood Valley Drive home. She is out of the Clayton County Jail on $20,000 bond under the special condition she have no violent contact with him.
Wilbur Lucky McCloud was indicted for theft by taking and for making false statements about the theft of oil from Benny's Auto Repair Shop in 2011. Prosecutors allege McCloud told Lake City police that he didn't take oil from the shop.
However, a subsequent investigation led to McCloud's arrest for the theft.
All defendants should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
