McDONOUGH — It took almost a year but a McDonough man who police said fled after he attacked his sister and another family member has been brought back to Henry County to face charges.
Willie James Duffey, 61, of Sable Chase Boulevard, appeared in Magistrate Court Friday on two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the May 31 alleged incident.
Henry County police Sgt. Joey Smith said Duffey injured his sister with a knife and threatened another family member with a tire iron.
The woman was not seriously injured and refused to be transported for treatment, Smith said.
Duffey was arrested in Gwinnett County, where he has been awaiting transport for an unknown amount of time, Smith said.
Due to the nature of the allegations, only a Superior Court judge can set bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 6 in Henry County Magistrate Court.
