Man indicted in shooting

JONESBORO — A violent offender who served time in state prison for drugs and weapons charges has been indicted for allegedly shooting another man in the groin.

A Clayton County grand jury indicted Terry Lynn Roach Jr., 27, on multiple counts of aggravated battery and aggravated assault in the Aug. 31 shooting of Myron Parks. The indictment alleges Roach shot Parks in the groin, thigh and neck.

Roach was also indicted for possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and by a convicted felon.

Kristina Cherie Hadnott was indicted on multiple counts of aggravated assault, battery, battery under the Family Violence Act and stalking. Prosecutors allege Hadnott stabbed Erico Varner in the eye with an ink pen Nov. 18. Varner was also stabbed in the shoulder, according to the indictment.

Jefferson Lee Roach, 55, of Toccoa was indicted for aggravated battery and multiple counts of battery and simple battery under the Family Violence Act in an alleged May 18 incident. Prosecutors said Roach kicked Linda Nutt in her leg, causing it to become gangrenous. He also allegedly bit Jerry Nutt in the lip and arm, and grabbed him by the throat.

Wanda Laniece Scott was indicted on four counts of aggravated assault in the alleged Dec. 6 attack on Ronald Charles. Prosecutors said Scott stabbed Charles in the buttocks, lower back and arms. She is also charged with concealing the knife used in the alleged attack and fighting with Charles in a public place.

Thomas Rivera was indicted on two counts each of cruelty to children in the first degree and two counts of battery under the Family Violence Act. Prosecutors said Rivera punched a boy in the back several times, slapped his face and beat him with a belt.

Alfred Edmonson, 42, of College Park was indicted on charges of statutory rape, aggravated child molestation, child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Lawrence John Haines was indicted for commercial gambling Oct. 13, 2010, at Benefields Eatery and Saloon on Old Dixie Road in Jonesboro. Myisha Lavone Marshall was also indicted for commercial gambling, Oct. 11. 2010, at Point Sports Bar on Ga. 85 in Jonesboro.

All defendants should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
