FOREST PARK — City Council members will consider a contract for a Community Development Block Grant project to improve infrastructure at Monday's regular 7 p.m. meeting.
The agenda includes a presentation to Forest Park High School in recognition of its placement in U.S. News and World Report's recent ranking of the nation's best high schools. A $5,000 grant check from Waste Management Inc. will also be presented.
The CDBG project will improve infrastructure on Glenn Drive, Sharon Street and School Place. The city will consider a contract for the work with M.H. Biggers and Associates to provide appraisal services for the project.
According to the agenda, the project consists of curb and gutter improvements, drainage improvements and construction of sidewalks. The engineering phase has been completed and several properties have been identified for right-of-way acquisition and/or construction easements.
Other agenda items include a petition to rezone 2.71 acres at 0 Main St. from RM-125 Residential to LI Light Industrial; and a resolution to declare certain city items as surplus for sale.
The work session starts at 6 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 7 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public and are held at City Hall.
