FOREST PARK — Under secrecy and security guards, the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe visited Forest Park recently.

U.S. Air Force Gen. Philip M. Breedlove was nominated to the position in March and confirmed in May.

Breedlove is a 1973 graduate of Forest Park High School and slipped into town Nov. 2 for a Classes of 1970s breakfast reunion at Oakwood Cafe at State Farmers Market, said Mayor David Lockhart.

Other notable graduates include Clayton County State Court Chief Judge John Carbo and Clayton County Superior Court Judge Matthew Simmons.

Lockhart, who also graduated from FPHS, presented Breedlove with a proclamation declaring Nov. 2, 2013, Gen. Philip M. Breedlove Day.

Other graduates attending the breakfast included Forest Park police Chief Dwayne Hobbs and City Manager Frank Brandon.

“Forest Park has a lot to be proud of,” said Lockhart, “the most important of which are our people.”
