JONESBORO — Clayton County police said they have arrested two men in connection with the shooting death of a third man who had advertised a cell phone for sale on craigslist.com.
Lt. Chris Windley said Jevon Nathan Freeman, 25, of Lithonia was found dead at 5895 Ga. 85 in Riverdale Wednesday.
Windley said Freeman had advertised an iPhone 5 for sale on the popular Internet marketplace and met with a prospective buyer.
Detectives were able to trace the transaction to suspect Terrance Justin Dent, 18, of Riverdale, said Windley. Dent reportedly admitted his role in the shooting and said he gave the gun to his friend, Latrel Avante Irving, 17, of Riverdale.
Windley said police found the weapon at Irving’s home and he admitted getting it from Dent.
Dent is charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, tampering with evidence and furnishing a pistol to a minor.
Irving is charged with possession of a weapon by a minor.
They are being held in the Clayton County Jail without bond pending court hearings.
The defendants should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
