JONESBORO — It will feel like Christmas Day in two Clayton County cities today when Jonesboro and Lake City hold their annual holiday celebrations.
Jonesboro will hold its second annual Christmas Bazaar and Parade on Main Street in the historic downtown area. The festivities will begin with a vendors bazaar that will run from noon until 7 p.m. The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Jonesboro Post Office, 255 North Main St., and make its way south on Main Street to the historic Clayton County Courthouse.
Santa Claus will be on the south porch of the Jonesboro Train Depot after the parade to receive Christmas lists from children while everyone will be encouraged to join in a dance party on Main Street.
Lake City will host its annual Christmas tree lighting celebration at 6 p.m. at its municipal hall, 5455 Jonesboro Road. The event is expected to include hot chocolate, caroling and Santa Claus. It will culminate in the lighting of the city’s 55-feet tall Christmas tree.
