Mr. Bobby Gene “Pop” Bell

Mr. Bobby Gene “Pop” Bell, age 71 of Locust Grove, Georgia went to be with the Lord Oct. 1, 2013. He was born in Hiram, Georgia to the late Herschel Frazier and Irene Agnes Turner Bell. He was a loving husband and father. Bobby was a humorous man and loved life. He worked at Ford Motor Company for 27 years before retiring.

Bobby is survived by his most beloved treasure, his wife of 50 years, Emily Bell and their children; Mark (Linda) Bell and Tracey (Jeff) Brown; grandchildren, Drew Brown, Trey Brown, Krystal Brown, Emily Bell and Samantha Bell; sister, Betty Bell Smith along with several nieces and nephews.

Bobby was loved by many children that he loved like grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at 1 p.m. from the Philippi Baptist Church. Pastor Joey Seabolt will officiate. Friends may visit the family Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. Mr. Charles P. ‘Phillip’ Cook

Mr. Charles P. ‘Phillip’ Cook, 71 of Milner, formerly of Clayton and Henry Counties, passed away Sept. 21, 2013 at Christian Ministries Hospice.

Mr. Cook, was born in West Point, Ga., on Friday, March 13, 1942. The son of the late James P. and Velma H. Cook. Mr. Cook was the first paid fireman for Henry County. When he retired, he was a truck driver.

Mr. Cook is survived by his ‘bride’ of 51 years, Tanya Cook; daughters and son-in-laws, Sherry (Timmy) Raines, Debbie (Doug) Price and Denise Zicafoose.; granddaughters, Jessica (Tim) Ridgeway, Christina (Jacob) McClenahan and Candice (Josh) Youngblood and Lacey Zicafoose; great-granddaughters, Riley McClenahan and Rayleigh Youngblood; brothers, Mike (Joyce) Cook, Larry (Rita) Cook and Joel (Jamie) Cook; and several nieces and nephews.

At the request of Mr. Cook, he was cremated and there will be no funeral or memorial service. On Oct. 12, 2013 at 12 p.m., there will be a celebration of life gathering at 383 Jones Road. A covered dish dinner will follow and if you would like, feel free to bring your favorite dish.

Mrs. Betty Jo Puckett

Mrs. Betty Jo Puckett, age 83 of Rex, passed away, Oct. 2, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Guy Puckett. She is survived by her children Rebecca Lea (Ralph) Allen of Buford, Johnny Alvin Puckett of Rex; sister, Valerine Dean; grandchildren, Amanda Lea Kerstoff, Christopher Lee Allen; great grandchildren, Peyton Kerstoff, Emalee Kerstoff; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service.
