Children played on slides and tricycles, made “pancakes” from clay and played brain teasers with their pre-kindergarten teachers Wednesday at La Petite Academy in Jonesboro. However, while they are busy laying the foundation for their future education, they may not realize they are in the spotlight this week. Georgia officials are celebrating early learning programs, such as La Petite Academy, throughout the state as they observe Georgia Pre-K Week.
