Jonesboro to hear audit report Monday

JONESBORO — The residents of Jonesboro will have a chance Monday to find out if their tax dollars were properly handled last year.

The Jonesboro City Council will meet to hear the town’s annual audit report from representatives of Fulton & Kozak. The accounting firm has been working on the audit for the city and this is the second time its representatives have been scheduled to appear before the council this year.

They were previously expected to give their presentation Aug. 5, but that report had to be postponed because of a scheduling conflict.

The report is the only item on the agenda for the council’s monthly work session, which will begin at 6 p.m. at the Jonesboro Police Department headquarters, 170 South Main St. The public will be given an opportunity to comment on the report after it is given.
