JONESBORO — The Clayton County Board of Education approved a lesser amount than expected this month on purchasing.
A purchasing item was pulled from the consent agenda requesting $17.6 million in funding for upgrades in technology, providing new desktop and notebook computers and replacing obsolete instructional equipment.
However, the board did approve $150,000 for computers.
During this week’s board meeting, the board approved continuing the final option year in a contract with Gregory, Doyle, Calhoun & Rogers and Fincher, Denmark & Williams for legal consulting services at an annual cost of about $805,000. The services will be funded through general fund dollars.
The board approved funding the district’s 2014 high school graduations at the Georgia Dome, May 27-28. The ceremony is expected to cost an estimated $148,500.
There were also changes made to policy series L. Policy series M was reviewed but not changed.
