New Vision Christian Church hosts community wellness fair

FOREST PARK — New Vision Christian Church will join its community partners in celebrating life with breast cancer survivors during the church’s free wellness fair this month.

The family-oriented event is Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 5300 Frontage Road, Suite G, in Forest Park.

Organizers said the event will feature health screenings such as blood pressure checks, mini clinics presented by Healing Hands Chiropractic & Wellness Center, A+ Family Foot & Let Care Specialist, Restored Therapeutic Massage, Vital Beauty Skin Therapy and the National Trichology Training Institute. It will also include informational tables about stroke and breast cancer awareness hosted by Southern Regional Women’s Center at Spivey Station and Komen for the Cure; and Center for Image-Guided Medicine on non-surgical treatment of uterine fibroids.

New Vision Christian Church’s signature ministries, Fit for the Kingdom and One Flesh Marriage, will provide direction on the importance of physical fitness and marriage counseling, as well as the Intercessory and Counseling Ministries.

Organizers said there will also be a Jumble Jam Fall Festival that will include a Trunk or Treat, a garage sale and a car and bike show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Its Fit for the Kingdom ministry will host free exercise classes starting at 9:30 a.m. with a total body workout and at 11 a.m. with a hip-hop workout.

There will be live performances from Sound of Vision and the church youth department’s “S.W.A.G.”

The wellness fair’s community partners will include unique jewelry and accessories showcased by Premier Designs and jewelry by L’Tesse Wise; The Corner Store, Mary Kay Cosmetics Independent Sales Director Latricia Raynor Vango; Amway Distributor Henry Reeves; handmade gifts and homemade chocolate candy samples from Beverly Cole’s Made4U; H.O.W.W. Inc.; Relay for Life of Clayton County; and many other vendors who will dedicate their time and talents to attendees.
