Council to honor elected officials

LOVEJOY — Mayor Bobby Cartwright and members of the Lovejoy City Council plan to recognize government officials throughout Clayton County during the council’s monthly meeting Monday.

Spokeswoman Kaycia Rhone said the awards are an acknowledgment of city and county leaders and their successful work and cooperation in completing LOST/SDS negotiations.

Rhone said there will be a small reception to honor the elected officials and “their efforts in working together to move Clayton County forward.”

The reception is set for 5:30 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 2296 Talmadge Road.

Rhone said the city is also planning its fall festival Sept. 14 at Mayor’s Park, 11620 Hastings Bridge Road. It will feature music, games, food and wares from 1 until 9 p.m.
