RIVERDALE — Provost Academy Georgia will host an information session Monday for parents looking for educational alternatives.
PAGA is a statewide, single-school district that serves students in grades 9-12. Representatives from the academy are traveling around metro Atlanta educating the public about its tuition-free programs for high school students.
Monica Henson is the academy’s superintendent and CEO. She said the school functions in a non-traditional online learning environment.
“Our program is working and our kids are excelling academically,” Henson said. “More than 90 percent of our juniors statewide are at or above grade level in literacy as measured by the state examinations. This is the future of education.”
The community information meeting is set for Monday at the Riverdale Branch of the Clayton County Library System. The library is at 420 Valley Hill Road.
Organizers said there will be other meetings, including a final meeting Sept. 18 in downtown Atlanta. Meeting schedules and enrollment information are available at www.ga.provostacademy.com or by calling 866-517-5582.
