Man indicted in alleged beating of wife

JONESBORO — A Clayton County grand jury has indicted a man for allegedly beating and choking his wife, according to court records.

James Antwan Clark also faces several financial transaction card theft and identity fraud charges involving three different people.

Prosecutors said Clark choked his wife, Olivia Burnett, and took her overnight bag and purse at gunpoint. The indictment also alleges Clark tried to run her over with a car.

Clark was indicted on multiple counts of aggravated assault, simple battery and robbery in the Feb. 23, 2011, alleged incident.

Terry Eugene Frazier was indicted on multiple counts of aggravated assault, armed robbery and carjacking in an alleged June 9 incident.

Prosecutors said Frazier took a Volkswagen Passat at gunpoint.

He is also charged with aggravated assault against a police officer.

All defendants should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
