RIVERDALE — Her likeness and talent are posted online in video, and she recently showcased that talent on one of the grandest stages in professional tennis.

Aliyah Khaylyn, 12, was chosen to sing America, the Beautiful during this month’s U.S. Open Championship in New York City. She sang in front of hundreds at the United States Tennis Association-sanctioned hardcourt tennis tournament, the last Grand Slam of the 2013 season.

Khaylyn began singing at community events and churches in Philadelphia at 7. She is a student at North Clayton Middle School in Riverdale.

Principal Shakira Brown said she is proud of students at the school who take their talents to the masses as Khaylyn has been able to do.

“Another great example of the great things that are happening in Clayton County,” said Brown.
