Mother indicted for beating herself in front of kids

JONESBORO — A woman has been indicted for allegedly beating herself up in front of her kids.

Jessica Leann Ike, 36, was indicted this week on five counts of child cruelty in the second degree and one count of simple battery.

The indictment alleges that Ike allowed the children to watch her bang her head against the bathroom wall and sink, slap herself, pull her hair and threaten to kill herself with a knife.

The sixth count alleges Ike beat one of the children.

According to Clayton County court records, Ike has a shoplifting charge pending in State Court.

James Joseph Reinke was indicted for child cruelty, theft by taking, simple assault and reckless conduct. The indictment alleges that Reinke shot Christian Bernabe with an air gun and took a soccer ball belonging to Oscar Pineda.

Bruce Thomas Gillespie Jr. was indicted in an alleged child molestation case. He faces two counts of aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery of a child under 16 and child molestation in the June 2012 alleged incidents.

Jamal Jordan Price was indicted on multiple counts of child molestation, aggravated sodomy and aggravated child molestation in connection with alleged assaults reported from June 2009 to June 2012.

Juan Carlos Hernandez was indicted for Violation of Georgia Employment Security Law. Prosecutors allege Hernandez accepted more than $4,000 in unemployment benefits from June 2009 to December 2009 without letting Department of Labor officials know he was working at Solo Cup.

All defendants should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
