Clayton County Chamber of Commerce’s Showcase Clayton Business and Community Expo slated for Thursday

Business and elected leaders will bring commission Chairman Jeff Turner’s ‘Show On The Road’ to First Baptist Church of Jonesboro

JONESBORO — The Clayton County Chamber of Commerce and county government officials are planning to take their “show on the road” Thursday at the Ninth Annual Showcase Clayton Business and Community Expo.

The business group and elected officials will partner to bring Clayton County Commission Chairman Jeff Turner’s “Show On The Road” campaign to this year’s expo. The campaign is an effort to educate residents about the various functions each county government department performs for the community.

The annual expo, which is held each year at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro’s Recreation Outreach Center, draws big crowds of residents. Clayton County businesses and community organizations fill two gymnasium spaces at “The ROC” to show the community what they offer.

The expo will last from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Exhibitors at past expos have included catered buffets, massage stations, games and free give-a-ways. The chamber also does raffle drawings during the event.

The Recreation Outreach Center is located at 148 Church St. — next to the Clayton News Daily office — in downtown Jonesboro.
