HAMPTON — Joey Logano makes his return to Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend as one of the top drivers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series.

The former Thursday Thunder alumni has already secured a spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup title, but he naturally wants a good showing on his former home track.

Last year, Logano finished second at the AMS race. He comes to Sunday’s national televised Oral-B USA 500 in fourth place in the Chase Grid.

“I do feel like Atlanta is a good racetrack for us, a place we were very, very fast,” Logano said. “Probably the best race car I ever had was last year in Atlanta, so I’m very, very excited about going back over there.”

Read about Logano’s rise to the top in NASCAR in the Clayton News Daily special race tab. Also included is other information to prepare for this weekend’s racing.
