Riverdale mother, domestic partner face charges in death of child, 4

JONESBORO — Clayton County police have charged a Riverdale mother with child cruelty and her domestic partner with murder in the death of a 4-year-old girl.

Jamila Hart was taken to Southern Regional Medical Center Sunday after police responded to a call about a child not breathing. She was pronounced dead at the hospital, said Clayton County police.

Her mother, Danielle Renee Hart, 24, has been charged with child cruelty and child deprivation. She is being held in Clayton County Jail on $42,000 bond.

Hart’s domestic partner, Shardae Michelle Glover, 28, has been charged with murder, cruelty to children in the first degree, aggravated assault and aggravated battery. Jail records did not show her as an inmate at press time.

Two small children were removed from the apartment on Roberts Drive and placed with relatives, said police.

Jamila Hart had bruises on her head and body but an exact cause of death has not been established yet, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
