HAMPTON — The search for a missing Hampton woman ended Monday afternoon after a search for her whereabouts stretched into Clayton County.
A “be on the lookout” for 44-year-old Stephanie Tyree was canceled about 4 p.m. Monday after a passerby told Clayton County Police they saw her walking in the area near Mt. Zion and Fielder Roads.
She was in good condition, but was taken to an area hospital to be medically evaluated, Henry County Police Sgt. Joey Smith said.
Tyree was reported missing a few hours after she walked away from her Pates Lake Way residence about 11 a.m. Sunday.
Her disappearance did not show evidence of foul play, police said, but the case was listed as “critical” because she was without her medication.
Smith said Sunday was not the first time Tyree has gone missing.
She was also found in Clayton County after her mother reported her missing in July of 2013, according to a police report. She was picked up by a Lake City Police officer and taken to a homeless shelter at her request.
