JONESBORO — College students have an opportunity to learn how government works through an internship program Clayton County officials have begun promoting.
Internships in 16 departments and offices are being offered on the county’s website, claytoncountyga.gov.
On the applications, which are available on the website, students are asked to answer several questions such as “What are your career goals?” and “What kind of learner would you classify yourself as being?”
Each internship will remain posted “until filled,” according to the site.
The internships are being offered in the following departments and offices:
• Buildings and maintenance
• Central services
• Community development
• TV Channel 23
• Economic development
• Finance administration
• Fire and emergency services
• Human resources
• Information technology
• Library administration
• Parks and recreation
• Police administration
• Senior services
• Transportation and development
• The UGA Cooperative Extension Service
• The Clayton County Tax Assessor’s Office
