Allen E. “Paw Paw” Blackstock
Mr. Allen E. “Paw Paw” Blackstock, age 78 of Stockbridge passed away on January 16, 2014. Allen was born August 12, 1935 in Newnan, GA. He will be sadly and sorely missed by his loving family. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor along with his dedication to family and God. His kindness and gentle soul enriched all who knew him. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Jessee and Savannah Blackstock, brothers, Sanford Blackstock, J.D. Blackstock, Fletcher Blackstock and sister, Helen Blackstock Chandler. Survived by sister, Manelle Blackstock Warr, and the “lights of his life,” wife, Virginia A. Bishop Blackstock; daughters, Angela Dawn Blackstock Hayes, and Teresa Lynn Robinson and husband, Eddie, grandchildren, Henry Bradford Ginn and wife, Danielle, Sara Dawn Ginn, and Jennifer Lynn Robinson, and great-granddaughter, Lily Dawn Ginn. Allen was in the Naval Reserves for 2 years, and employed by College Park Fire Dept. for 4 years, and Bell South for 33 years. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Allen will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Jonesboro First Baptist Church Chapel, 142 College St. Jonesboro, GA. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers the family gratefully wish donations be made to the Alzheimers Foundation of America in memory of Allen.
Jacquelyn “Jackie” Edwards
Mrs. Jacquelyn “Jackie” Sawyer Edwards age 72, of Forest Park, passed away, January 15, 2014. She is survived by her children; Brad Lester of Forest Park, Scott (Jami) Lester of McDonough, step-child; Lindsay Tyson of McDonough, brother; Steve Bullington of Atlanta, sisters; Sherry Benefield of Franklin NC, Carla Zottarelli of McDonough, grandchildren; Kirstie Lester, Caitlyn Lester, Parker Lester, Ryan Lester, Taylor Lester, and numerous nieces and nephew. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2014 in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park, GA. Ronald C. Weitzel
Ronald C. Weitzel of Woodstock, GA passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the age of 76. He was born November 14, 1937 to Clair and Eleanor Weitzel in Connoquenessing, PA near Butler. He graduated from Slippery Rock High School. He has been married to Marjorie Jean Weitzel for 35 years and was a loving husband, father and friend. Ron was a member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church in Acworth, GA. Ron worked for Pennsylvania Power for 15 years, and he owned and operated Arrowhead Electric Company in Jonesboro, GA from 1977-1991. He later worked for and retired from the City of Atlanta. He was past President of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) organization. Ron was preceded in death by his first wife of 22 years, Shirley Ann (McCandless) Weitzel, and his parents, Clair and Eleanor Weitzel. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Jean Weitzel; four sons: Terry (wife Sybil) of Newnan, GA, Dale (partner Peter Aleksic) of Tampa, FL, David (wife Nancy) of Milledgeville, GA, Chuck (wife Kathy) of Hampton, GA; daughter, Devona Keith (husband Jeff) of Knoxville, TN; stepdaughter, Dani Lee (husband Rich) of Cleveland, OH, and stepson, Scott Hochmuth (wife Susan) of Cornelia, GA; two granddaughters: Stephanie Bignon and Melissa Washington; five grandsons: Stephen, Brad, Brian, Anthony, and David; and three great grandchildren: Madison, Charlie, and Kendall; his sisters: Delores LeFebvre (husband Regis) of Portersville, PA, Marcia Parton (husband Ken) of Slippery Rock, PA; his brothers: Blair of Portersville, PA, and Rodger (wife Nancy) of Prospect, PA, and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews. His remains were cremated. A private memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heritage Presbyterian Church or the St. Jude's Children Hospital in Memphis, TN.
