Clayton police detective on leave pending investigation

JONESBORO — Clayton County police are investigating one of their own for alleged misconduct, officials announced Thursday.

Chief Greg Porter said the Clayton County District Attorney is assisting in the investigation of property crimes Detective Chad Buffalow.

Capt. Angelo Daniel said the alleged misconduct was uncovered during an internal administrative case review. The nature of the allegations was not immediately released.

Daniel said in a press release that the allegations are being investigated by officers with Internal Affairs Unit. The detective has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome.

“It is the position of the Clayton County Police Department to hold all employees accountable to the core values of the police department of honor, integrity, transparency and professionalism,” Porter said.

He said details of the investigation will be released once it has been completed.
