LAKE SPIVEY — An elderly woman escaped uninjured with her caretaker from an inferno at her Lake Spivey home early Thursday but a firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.

Clayton County fire Deputy Chief Jacque Feilke said the cause of the fire hasn’t been determined but it is not believed to be suspicious or intentional.

Feilke said the firefighter was treated for minor heat exhaustion and released the same day.

The woman and her caretaker were not hurt but the Emerald Drive house, believed to be about 10,000-square feet, was destroyed.
