Griwsell Senior Center hosting first-ever Caribbean celebration

JONESBORO — The J. Charley Griswell Senior Center already holds events to commemorate Cajun and Irish cultures, but now it’s heading to the islands.

The center has announced it will host its first-ever Caribbean-American Heritage Festival Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event will include native music, cultural dancing and samples of authentic Caribbean foods.

The theme for the celebration will be “A Journey through the Caribbean Islands.”

The Griswell Senior Center is inside Clayton County International Park, 2300 Ga. 138 in Jonesboro.
