FOREST PARK —The Clayton County Offices of Economic Development & Film announced Tuesday that AVICS USA will bring their headquarters and potentially hundreds of new jobs in Forest Park.

“AVICS headquarters operation will employ 25 new positions,” said Clayton County Economic Development Director Grant Wainscott in a press release. “However, their desire is to open a large manufacturing plant in Clayton County within the next two years that could employ hundreds.”

AVICS USA is the daughter company of AVICS Korea Co. LTD, a designer, manufacturer and distributor of more than 50 LED lighting products founded in 1998. Its headquarters in the Southfield Corporate Center near Forest Park will feature a sales, showroom and distribution facility.

“We are very satisfied [to be] located at Forest Park, Clayton County, because Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill and Clayton County Economic Development Director Mr. Wainscott and Deputy Director Mr. William Keir gave us the right direction,” AVICS USA President James Dong S. Ahn. “We are honored to [be a] partner of Clayton County neighborhood.”

Wainscott introduced Ahn and his company at Tuesday’s board meeting and Chairman Jeff Turner welcomed both on behalf of the board.
