Spivey Hall Children’s Choir performs at national choral directors convention

MORROW — Spivey Hall Children’s Choir reached another significant milestone this week.

The children’s choir, a community outreach and education program of Clayton State University’s world-famous Spivey Hall, was invited to perform for the Southern Division Convention of the American Choral Directors Association, held Thursday through Sunday in Jacksonville, Fla.

It is the sixth performance of Spivey Hall Children’s Choir at an association event. The choir’s invitation is for a performance for the ecumenical service for the 2,000 conductors that will be in attendance at the convention.

“We are delighted and proud,” said Melanie Darby, manger of Spivey Hall Education. “This is definitely a group and an honor that Spivey Hall and Clayton State can be very proud of.”
