JONESBORO — A Walk for Life to benefit Pregnancy Care Center of Jonesboro is set for March 29 from First Baptist Church.
Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. from The ROC at 148 Church St. in Jonesboro.
The 2-mile walk is a major fundraiser for the center, which operates out of 158 S. Main St. Money raised will be used for the center’s operating expenses.
The Pregnancy Care Center helps women with an unintended pregnancy to be able to give life instead of getting an abortion. It offers free pregnancy testing and a letter proving the pregnancy that can be presented to government services for Medicaid.
The center provides maternity and baby clothes to size 4T, and other supplies a new mother needs to take care of a newborn.
The faith-based center has been in operation for 29 years and officials said they have saved an estimated 25,000 children from being aborted.
The center also provides post-abortion counseling.
Walkers can pre-register and pick up a sponsor form at the center and get information through the website at www.pregnancycarecenter.info, or by calling 770-477-1501, emailing email@example.com or visiting its Facebook page, Pregnancy Care Center in Clayton County.
Residents who want to support the center can do so without walking. Contact the center for more information.
