COLLEGE PARK — Local employment seekers will vie for more than 4,200 jobs Friday when Congressman David Scott (D-Ga.) holds his 11th annual 13th Congressional District Jobs Fair.
Ninety-five employers are expected to have 4,207 jobs to fill at the fair, which will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse in College Park, according to an announcement from Scott’s office.
Scott’s congressional district includes the southern half of Clayton County and the northern third of Henry County.
The list of employers expected to participate in this year’s job fair includes the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, MARTA, Grady Health System, Gwinnett County Police Department, Georgia Power, Georgia Southern University, the City of Atlanta, Atlanta Technical College, AT&T, Gainesville Police Department, U.S. Air Marshalls, the FBI, Home Depot, Gate Gourmet and UPS.
Scott’s office also announced the congressman is working with HomeSafe Georgia to provide mortgage aid and foreclosure prevention resources to homeowners who need the assistance. Several banks will also participate in this effort. Participating banks include Bank of America, Wells Fargo, BB&T, Citi Mortgage, SunTrust, Regions Bank, U.S. Bank, HSBC, M&T Bank, Fannie Mae, State Home Mortgage and D&E Group.
