FOREST PARK — Personnel with Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services will be training today with a Forest Park tow company on extrication techniques.
CCFES Capt. Walter Barber said the multi-station training will be conducted starting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at New Image Towing at 4780 Old Dixie Road. Other agencies participating include Georgia DOT HERO units.
Barber said the training will cover vehicle extrication with crews honing their lifesaving skills to better free entrapped passengers from cars, buses and other motorized vehicles.
Station 9 Lt. Lou Padovani is a veteran leader when it comes to extrication and he is looking forward to the rest of his colleagues getting this training, said Barber.
“He considers this training ‘fundamental’ and has worked closely with New Image Towing to arrange the training,” said Barber.
The towing company has been in business in Forest Park since 2005 and deploys more than 30 trucks and 10 trailers.
