Police have two in custody in shooting death September 4, 2015

Mr. Wilbur Dale Hardman, age 88, of LaGrange, Georgia died Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Piedmont-Henry Hospice in Stockbridge, Georgia. Funeral services are planned for Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 1:00 EST at the Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee, Alabama. Graveside Services will be at Greens Chapel Methodist Church in Wedowee. Mr. Hardman is survived by his dear wife of 62 years, Edyth Ware Hardman of LaGrange; two daughters, Lucy Cochran (David) of West Point, Georgia and Linda Williams of Jonesboro, Georgia. Also surviving are four grandchildren, April Cloutier (Jon) of Cornelia, Georgia, Jennifer Garten (Stephen) of Fayetteville, Georgia, Cassie Eastmead (Josh) of LaGrange, Georgia, and Fred Gentner of West Point, Georgia. Mr. Hardman is also survived by three great grandchildren: Lucy Ann Eastmead, Andrew Eastmead and J.R. Garten along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Hardman was born August 16, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Frank Hardman and Mabel Cain. Mr. Hardman is a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having reached the rank of Corporal and having been awarded the Purple Heart for distinguished service in battle. Mr. Hardman worked all his life and retired from Georgia Highway Express of Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Hardman was a kind and gentle soul who loved children, animals and laughter. Most of all he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
