The Miracle Worker coming to Clayton County

JONESBORO — Famed deaf and blind teacher Helen Keller will come to Clayton County next week.

Well, a play about Keller’s life will be coming to the county.

The Front Porch Players will perform “The Miracle Worker” May 30-31, June 1, 6,7 and 8 at First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro, 1842 Lake Jodeco Road in Jonesboro. Show times are 8 p.m. for the May 30-31 and June 6-7 shows, and 7:30 p.m. for the June 1 and 8 shows.

“If you’ve ever wondered why the story of Helen Keller, left deaf and blind at the age of 19 months due to illness is called The Miracle Worker, this moving drama written by William Gibson and performed by The Front Porch Players will leave no doubt in your mind why it is so named,” said show director Karen Ferrell-White in a statement.

Reserved seating tickets cost $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and $10 for children. General admission costs $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and $8 for children.
