Elizabeth C. Singleton, age 75, of Rex, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 25, 2014. Services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel from 3 to 5 pm.
She was patient and kind; she loved well and gave what she had to those in need. She was a true Christian and was a blessing to her family and friends. She overcame many crises and adversities in her life and was a beacon of light to many. She retired from JC Penneys in 2001 and loved going to the Penny Loafer meetings. In heaven, her garment may not be the more familiar white robe, but more than likely will be something red and black with silver britches GO DAWGS! Woof! Woof!
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Kevin Thompson of Riverdale, daughters; Laurie Blanchard ( Tony Toole) of Rex and Christy Singleton of Chattanooga, TN, grandchildren; Robert & Katelyn Blanchard, Rebecca Hydock and Nicholas Hydock, three great-grandchildren and a brother O.E (Gene) Carson of Baltimore, MD.
She is preceded in death by daughter, Jennifer Hydock, grandson, Jeffrey Hydock and great- granddaughter, Addalyn Mae Hydock .
A Celebration of Life luncheon immediately following the service in the community services building at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
