Arts Clayton has a few summer camp spots left

JONESBORO — Arts Clayton’s summer camps begin next week but Camp Administrator Elizabeth Gower said she still has room for a few more kids.

“I can take about 10-15 more little guys in the Kaleidoscope Camp and about 10 more kids in the Young Teen Camp, but some of the classes in both camps are already full and can’t take anymore kids,” said Gower.

Parents interested in signing up their children for either camp can still do so through this weekend, said Gower. The Kaleidoscope Art Camp is for elementary school-age children through rising sixth-graders. The Young Teen Camp is for rising seventh- through ninth-graders.

The classes still open in the Kaleidoscope Art Camp are visual arts and drawing. The Young Teen Camp still has spots available in its guitar, cartooning, clay/3-D art, set design and drawing/painting classes.

Each camp will run for two weeks at James A. Jackson Elementary School, 7711 Mt. Zion Blvd. in Jonesboro. The per-camper cost to participate in the Kaleidoscope Art Camp is $195 and $375 for the Young Teen Camp.

There is a multiple sibling discount of $350 for the Young Teen Camp and $175 for Kaleidoscope.

Applications can be found online at artsclayton.org or at the Arts Clayton Gallery, 136 South Main St. in Jonesboro. The gallery is closed on Sundays, however.

Parents who have questions or who want to register by telephone should call Gower at 770-473-5775.

The theme for this year’s Kaleidoscope is Disney’s “The Jungle Book” and the theme for the Young Teen Camp is “Disco Fever.”
