JONESBORO — Jonesboro City Council is holding a work session meeting Monday.
Topics of discussion include the purchase of new desktop computers for the Jonesboro Police Department, a conditional use request for a beauty salon, possible 2014 budget revisions and the acceptance of property on Broad Street from Clayton County.
The property was the headquarters of Clayton Center. The building caught fire more than three years ago. It has since remained vacant and parts of the building’s rear partially collapsed a few years ago.
Jonesboro Mayor Joy Day said the building will be torn down to make way for green space.
Additional items listed on the agenda are discussion on the proposed pubic assembly ordinance, adoption of the official zoning map, ordinance alcohol grandfathers and annexation application.
The work session begins at 6 p.m. at 170 South Main St. The public is invited to attend.
