The City of Riverdale will try something new Labor Day weekend, launching its first "Seafood and Beer Fest," according to Cie Cie McGhee, the city's marketing and events specialist.
Law enforcement officials and city leaders in Riverdale will address the safety concerns of residents, members of neighborhood watch groups and the business community this Saturday, during a meeting at Riverdale's new City Hall building, located at 7200 Church Street.
The Riverdale City Council will move forward with the city's proposed, $11.3 million general fund budget for 2012.
After nearly a year, the Riverdale City Council is moving forward with the process of constructing a new park on Wilson Road, that is expected to replace Travon Wilson Park, which was once located on part of the ground where the new Riverdale Town Center sits.
The City of Riverdale wants to know what types of recreational programming -- mainly sports programs aimed at children -- that residents are willing to pay for, the city recently announced in a news release.
A new road leading to the Riverdale Town Center complex, which provides a direct route to the Town Center, is currently open for motorists, said city officials.
