Fire Explorers compete, train at annual event
Firefighters, and other first responders, were youngsters once, and many were “Fire Explorers,” like the ones recently hosted by the Henry County Fire Department. Seventy-six young men and women from throughout the Southern Crescent area –– representing fire departments in the Asheville, N. C., Clarkesville, Ga., and in Clayton, Coweta, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton and Rockdale counties –– competed in the annual Fire Explorer Expo.
