My neighborhood was plastered with Garland Watkins signs. He seemed to have overwhelming support conscientious voters. Numerous signs supporting Watkins were also sighted around historic downtown on citizens trucks/cars and on local businesses.
Other news sources report voters could not remember Watkins name when voting. Many did not understand Watkins name would NOT be on the ballot, so registering an (automated) vote for him would require typing in his name. Sigh...

Could these building be used for city government office space instead of the current random storefronts? The area would also be an ideal location for festivals, farmer's markets and community events.
We have excellent construction programs at our secondary schools. Could students be recruited to volunteer to repair buildings and make them handicapped accessible?
This is glorious! Enterprising students will be equipped to further their skills at one of Georgia's fine agricultural colleges or in the growing organic farming movement. Can't beat the prices and plant quality from student greenhouses.
It's a pity Jonesboro High School killed its Greenhouse/Agricultural program. I enjoyed buying plants there too.
This is the kind of seasoned, experienced, LOCAL leadership we need!
Ms. Jackson is invested in our community and has demonstrated her dedication to local students. She is an experienced educator who is knowledgeable about Clayton County.
We need "Georgia Grown" proven leadership for the permanent superintendent position.

All is not lost, however. Due to Victor Hill's criminal trial, Governor Deal will may create a 3 member panel to appoint a new sheriff. The Governor's panel will be made up of the attorney general and 2 sheriffs from surrounding counties
