Clayton County needs industry and entertainment. Americans plan for the next fiscal quarter while the Japanese plan for the next quarter century. We need the industrial growth for our financial well being. Getting people back to work and earning paychecks will boost the economy. Courting big business like the automotive industry, the guns and ammunition industries, computer and scientific fields. Making it worth their time to decided to settle into the county for the long haul. We should be aggressively trying to get the Falcons to consider putting their stadium at the old Mountain View site. Better, quality housing and much lower crime rates along with a higher standard of education in the county school system. Places of family entertainment to make Clayton County a destination rather than a thoroughfare.

I just want to say, Thanks, to the Clayton News Daily and staff for the work that they do and for hosting this online forum. I known it takes a lot of energy and effort to make this all come together. Thanks.

I will have to check with my sources but I think it's been more than 7 years and no one in the county, police, fire, rescue, sheriff's department, dispatchers, and maybe others haven't received a pay raise. Of course the county is saving money by not paying Porter while he's under investigation. ;-)

Where is the outrage? Where are the "Justice for Steven Galindo." signs.? Where is Sharpton and Jackson? Could these boys have been one of Obama's sons? Seems the Hispanic community doesn't deserve the same national attention.

When the citizens of a nation can vote themselves money the nation is doomed. When the people depend on the government the people are slaves to the government. (Paraphrased) Those who give up liberty for safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin

In this Democratic society it is the ones receiving the perks that are voting in those who will hand out the perks. It is the ones who are willing to hand out the perks are the ones being elected. People think that government money is free money without the thought that the government actually has to collect three dollars to give out one dollar and that the three dollars collected comes from people who pay taxes.

Cities with greater government workforce than tax bases. Atlanta # 13. I wonder where the county would fall if we calculated the number of government employees and recipients to those of tax paying citizens.

The cities should consider annexation to expand the city limits and shut out the county police dept.

....How is shameful disgrace measured in this county ?

....Have we reached the plateau yet ?

The community decides what is and what is not acceptable. The measure of disgrace would depend on who is doing the measuring. . Plateau? A plateau would indicate some form of altitude or elevated platform. ClayCo has been sinking since 1996 and continues to sink further into the murky depths of an unseeingly bottomless hole.
. OscarKnight you riddle me this: If Detroit has filed for bankruptcy how long will it be before Clayton County follows?
