Who notified SACS???? I have heard some very disturbing rumors about the alleged notifier of SACS. If the rumors prove to be true, then the BOE has an even bigger problem. one on the inside not on the outside.

You are absolutely right!!! Pam has been looking out for Pam and not looking out for the employees and students of Clayton County. We need a new BOE chairperson and a new BOE member in her place since she has forgotten her real purpose in being on the BOE.

Jessie Goree is not the problem! She is what is right about the BOE. If Pam Adamson wants to blame someone, she needs to blame herself for any dissension. After all, she is the one who had conducted herself in a rude and unprofessional manner with regard to Ms. Goree. Pam is the one who has tried to sweep under the carpet everything amd amything that Heatley has done. For those of us who know the real Pam Adamson, we are not surprised by her misbehavior. Pam has always backed the person in power and then, once that person is gone, she badmouths the person and backs another in power. That is Pam Adamson's MO and has been for decades!

I am appalled that Pam Adamson would blame Jessie Goree for the SACS mess in which the BOE now finds itself. Ms. Goree is NOT the problem!! The problem is Pam Adamson and her blind allegiance to Dr. Heatley. I have attended BOE meetings and witnessed first-hand Dr. Adamson's unprofessional behavior during the BOE meetings. She is rude to Ms. Goree and to anyone who is critical of Dr. Heatley or to anyone who tells the truth. Pam is the problem, and, for those of us who have known and worked with her over the years, we are not at all surprised that she is the problem. Clayton County residents and taxpayers should be thanking Jessie Goree for holding Pam Adamson and Dr. Heatley accountable for their actions. Pam is the person who needs to be removed from the BOE!

Yes, Berkely, you did dodge a bullet!! I wish Clayton County had been so lucky!! I pity the school system who hires Heatley. He is all talk!!! He says what he thinks people want to hear.....blah, blah, blah!

Heatley withdrew his name from consideration because of the "intense investigation" that was going to be conducted. What was he afraid of their finding out about him? There is no telling the skeletons this man has in his closet! I just hope Pam Adamson, who has already proven that she has no sense when it comes to Heatley, will not be able to reinstate him as superintendent of the school system. He resigned. His resignation was accepted. Therefore, he needs to go! Take Pam and Douglas Hendrix with you, please!!!!

One of the major problems with school discipline, or a lack thereof, is that the principals are afraid to come down hard on misbehaving students because they fear repercussions from the superintendent, who is "soft" on crime. The superintendent has adopted the policy of "sweeping issues under the rug" so that the school system stays out of the news. Teachers send students to the office, only to have those students "talked to." Talking simply does not work! Administrators need to take a hard line on discipline in the schools. Without good, consistent discipline, there is no learning.

Folks, please donate to the Clayton County Humane Society. Better yet, adopt a dog or cat! Adopted pets are the best!! They give unconditional love and are so loyal. My three Cockers are adopted, and I have never regretted bringing them into my home. What joy they have brought to my life!!!!

One thing you can always count on is that Heatley will take the credit for anything good that has happened or will happened in Clayton County. He is more confident in his ability to be a school superintendent and make reasonable decisions much more than those who have worked with him. Heatley needs to take his immense talent to California, sooner rather than later!

james171 1 year, 7 months ago on Teachers chime in on Heatley

Heatley himself had very limited experience as a public school teacher and, therefore, reallly never understood how teachers felt and what teachers needed. He doesn't really know how to work effectively with principals either. He has been like a dictator instead of a facilitator or a mentor. Heatley needs to learn as do some of his "cabinet members" that to be a leader one must inspire people to be the best they can be rather than to inspire fear in them as he has done. His "my way or the highway" approach simply has not worked with the teachers and the administrators of Clayton County. The fact that there have been some casulties and loss of good educators in Clayton County is sad and will continue long after Heatley has left until an effective leader, one who appreciates people, is hired.
