The only Superintendent that is a rival to Heatly may be Romain Dallemand in Bibb Co.

Our biggest hope is that out of 37 indictments there is a conviction of at least one feloncy count that will include jail time.

Shanna in - Wole out. Jeff in- Eldrin out. Victor in? There are so many things that could be said about the outcome of yesterday's elections. Two out of three ain't bad. Nah. One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch? Nah. My favorite is 37 indictments but it only takes 1 conviction.

  1. Why do you need 10+ acres for a funeral home?
  2. What else are they going to build there (crematorium)?
  3. Why can't they just utilize the Pope Dickson home?
  4. Why do we need another funeral home anyway? Isn't 3 within 3 miles of downtown Jonesboro enough???

I hate to see another family owned business have to close their doors. Pope Dickson's staff has always been one of the most caring groups of people. You all will be remembered for quite some time.

Now if this had been just a "normal" person, it would have already been over and done. We would have paid our fine, done our community service, found someone to drive us around for three months and it would have NEVER been in the media. With the timing of this it will be all over the media just in time for the election. Go figure.

shirleyujest 3 years, 4 months ago on Jonesboro City Council OKs $61K spending increases from $76K surplus

I really have no objections to the Jonesboro Police Department getting new vehicles. Lord knows they need them. My question is how old are the current vehicles? Chief Allen says 9 of them have over 100,000 miles. Jonesboro proper only has a total land area of 2.6 miles. Where are the police going? How many miles a day is the average driven on these cars? How many of the officers are taking the cars home? Just questions.
