FPPD: Pawn shop robbery suspects armed, dangerous

Security cameras show two suspects in the July 8 robbery of Cash America Pawn in Forest Park.

FOREST PARK — Forest Park Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men suspected of holding up the Cash America Pawn on July 8.

Around 11:47 a.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at the pawn shop, 4831 Jonesboro Road. They say the suspects came in and brandished a silver handgun. One forced employees and customers to the rear of the building while the other snatched several pieces of jewelry.

One suspect is described as tall and slender with short twists with blonde tips, wearing a blue hat and “grey over blue” shorts. The other is described as having an “average build,” wearing a wig and dressed in black.

Both suspects fled on foot towards Marie Street and are believe to be armed and dangerous. Police warn citizens not to approach the suspects but to call 911 or 404-366-4141 should they be seen or if anyone knows who they are.
