JONESBORO — A number of events celebrating the holiday season have been planned across Clayton County for residents to enjoy.
Fundraiser and toy drive
Clayton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Jeff Turner will hold a fundraiser and toy drive Dec. 8 at the Skybox Restaurant, 2190 Mount Zion Parkway in Morrow, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Turner is partnering with the Ambassadors Behind CASA organization for the fundraiser. Ambassadors Behind CASA provides service to the county’s Court Appointed Special Advocates program, an organization that provides activities for children advocated for by the Juvenile Court.
“I’m so thankful to our community for always supporting my toy drive for our children in foster and relative care,” Turner stated in a press release. “Because of the community’s generosity and kindness, many of our children will wake up to a brighter Christmas.”
The toys collected will be presented to the Ambassadors Behind CASA to fill wish lists of children in relative and foster care, and the financial donations will be turned over to purchase additional toys.
