Jonesboro woman charged with postal holdup

A Jonesboro woman is charged with allegedly robbing a U.S. postal courier at riflepoint near Tara Boulevard and Summercourt Drive on June 3.

JONESBORO — A Jonesboro woman is being held in the Clayton County Jail on charges she pulled a rifle on a postal worker June 3.

Tiffany Michelle Fearby faces charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, reckless conduct and firearms discharge near a highway. She was refused bond on the armed robbery and aggravated assault charges and granted a total of $17,000 property bond and $2,100 in fees on the two lesser charges.

According to Clayton County Police, officers responded to a call of someone shooting near Tara Boulevard and Summercourt Drive. When they arrived, they found a U.S. Post Office courier who had been robbed of his packages by a woman with a rifle.

Officers evacuated the immediate area and stopped traffic on nearby streets, then found and arrested Fearby on armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Fearby made her first appearance July 4 before Magistrate Judge Roberts and is scheduled for a July 25 preliminary hearing on all charges and a July 26 bond hearing on the armed robbery and aggravated assault charges before Chief Magistrate Judge Wanda L. Dallas.
